Location
Eugene Joseph Elementary School is located in Tache (Tachie Village), British Columbia. Tache Village is one of three villages that belong to [ http://www.tlc.baremetal.com/ ]Tl'azt'en Nation, a [ http://www.ydli.org/linginfo.htm ]Dakelh (Carrier) First Nation in North-Central British Columbia, Canada.  Tache is located along beautiful [ http://sulu.maxit.net/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=10005&pos=7 ]Stuart Lake, an hour from Ft. St. James.

Our school is comprised of 54 students divided into four classrooms:
Kindergarten taught by Maureen
Grade 1/2 taught by Debbie
Grade 3/4/5 taught by Justin
Grade 6/7 taught by James
The school also houses Sum-Yaz Daycare and a Headstart Program.

Students receive Dakelh language and cultural enrichment in addition to learning the prescribed provincial curriculum. This year, classrooms have also been focusing on experiential learning, multicultural understanding, and positive monthly initiatives such as Fixing our Mistakes.  Students in all classes are learning to build empathy with the award-winning  Roots of Empathy program.
